De Venoge Cordon Bleu Brut Select

Image result for De Venoge Cordon Bleu Brut Select

Has a lovely bouqet of ginger, citrus, and brioche. Lots of good apple up front and finishes with a bit of plum. What's unique about this is it's simply not focused at all on any classic parings but highly complex and even a bit racy acidic. The acidity almost comes on the end of this with like an acidic plum, with an apple at the beginning.

A key descriptor would be racy plum acidity on the end, Apple first with citrus ginger brioche feel throughout.

Chateau du Retout 2015

A tart red nose with red fruit starting.  More medium bodied with ripe tannin finish.  During second taste plum tart appears i.e. the Damson plum and its a bit smoother.  Aeration helps this as I'm noticing slight note differences as the wine stays exposed.

Chateau Fonseche Haut Medoc 2012

Dark fruit based medium bodied cabernet with good grip on backend.  Good medium level easy drinking fruit content with the backend tannins enhancing ease of drink.  Overall perfect for an easy drinking steak wine.

Atrevida Malbec 2015

Strong blackberry nose that carries over to the front of the mouthfeel.  Medium bodied definite red fruit finish with a subtle herb. Consider as a lighter bodied steak wine.  Meant not as a big wine.

River Road Russian River Valley

Cranberries and cherries in nose with a little spice.  Medium bodied mouthfeel sold cherry front and plum backbone.  Cherry long lasting finish.  Light tannin. Pretty velvet

Chateau De Cornemps Cuvee Prestige 2015

A drier red with black currant on the nose, blackcurrent as your first fruit in the mouthfeel and plum finish. No tannin on the backend, this is much more a low tannin easy drinking drier merlot. I found the picture online/didn't take it myself, I drank the 2015. The plum does sort of intermix with everything else in the wine.

Chateau La Fleur Peyrabon

I think this is a wine you can play with in the sense of truly savoring every drop instead of just chugging.  Has a gorgeous blueberry spiced nose with lots of tons of red berry and nice well structured tannins that pervade the entire mouth feel quite excellently. The length on this is fantastic in part structured by the tannins. Almost notes of cherry that appear later.
