Bogle Chardonnay

Basically buttery nose,  apple mouthfeel,  butter finish.  Medium bodied.  Well balanced. Nothing bad but nothing new either.

Good Article

Guests ask me all the time about green friendly/natural/biodynamic/ wines. I think this article nicely explains it.

Solnia Tempranillo

So this wine doesn't have a tasting note to base my judgments on so I'm going to just draw what I can from the taste.

Nice and fruity throughout the nose and pallate. Medium bodied with a subtle, I think I might call it a chewy tanin on the backend. The fruit is a little bit brighter than darker throughout the pallate. I'd also refer to the nose as being not quite oaky but more rasberry/plum.

Fritz Zinfandel Dry Creek 2014

Printed sheet is mine notes.  Unique because this wine exists drier rather than sweeter.  Lots of dried black fruit on back and not as jammy.

Firebrand Merlot Total Wine and More

Not an overly complex wine. Lots of nice smooth cherry flavors in the mouthfeel. Perfect for that second drink at the party when you just make sure that people are happy and merry. On the nose, primarily oak. Little bit of a drier finish.

Beran Zinfandel California

This wine is excellent with a little oaky nose that contains a touch of blackberry that is pretty enticing, tons and tons of blackberry fruit that isn't tart, almost black currantish, and a little rasberry on the end. I can't taste the plum the description says on the back end. Overall, nicely complex, nice fruit, but well balanced with the nose and rasberry bite on the backend.

Oak Grove Zin

Perfect for pizza night,  a nice light cherry forward raspberry backend with mint on the nose from Arroyo Secco one of the largest wineries in Cali

Cloud Break Zin

Has a bit of smoke on nose initially.  Vanilla backend with jammy blackberry front-end. I think nose and backend is a result of the oak used.  Relatively light but still loads of fruit. Blackberries came out in nose near the end for me

Ch Ste Jean Chardonnay

Citrus on the front,  hazelnut backend.  Smooth medium bodied. Think lemon cream.

Double Dog Dare Chardonnay

Pretty darn good for a lower cost chardonnay.

Fruitier than some buttery chardonnay out there with a little butter on the backend.  Nice clean smell. I think the added acid really brings out fruit over the acid.

This was actually better then the Ch. Ste Michelle that I had last night. It's simply due to the added acid that allows more of chardonnay pear to come out.

Chateau Ste Michelle Chardonnay

Sharpish nose almost smelling like a crisp sea breeze, apple and pear in mouthfeel.  Long lasting butter finish. Almost like my tongue at the end for a long finish is coated with butter candy.

I had this relatively cold with no food.

The downsides to this wine = the fruit is not very strong.  What's listed as apple pear in the description is really more butter.

The upsides is 1. Intriguing nose.  2. Very long lasting butter.

Muirwood Pinot Noir

Oak nose with a little bit of plum. Bit of smokiness too. Lots of rich cherry with a little oak. More oak in the nose but atill fairly long lasting.

Mauro Sebaste Barbera d Asti

I think this showcases what a drier wine with lots of good fruit taste like.  Cherry and oak in the nose and cherry mouthfeel with sorta the saliva suck or chewiness at end.  Fairly lasting can leave open for a bit b4 drinking. Really a good example of what a fruity intense big but dry red can  be.
